Casey Anthony Trial: Defense Says No Proof on How Caylee Died as Jury Deliberations Expected
The Casey Anthony murder trial is near an end on Sunday with the prosecution and defense closing arguments making way for what is expected to be the first day of deliberations by the jury.
Casey Anthony, 25, is accused of murdering her two-year old daughter Caylee. If convicted she could face the death penalty.
We all know being a parent is about so much more than playing with your children, prosecutor Jeff Ashton said.
Being a parent is about sacrifice. When you have a child that child becomes your life, he added.
This case is about the clash between that responsibility...and the life that Casey Anthony wanted to have.
Defense Attorney Jose Baez raised doubts about Anthony's father George Anthony.
He wanted to distance himself from the situation. He knew she was dead, he said.
He said more information could have been obtained if state authorities would have tracked his movements closer.
He also said the prosecution has not answered how Caylee died and what happened to her.
Those questions were never answered. That evidence was never presented, he said.
