Casey Anthony Trial: Her one-time jail mate also lost child to drowning, whose story is it anyway?
Prosecutors said on Tuesday that a woman, jailed in a cell next to Casey Anthony, had a child who also drowned in its family's pool, which is similar to the story given by defense lawyers for Caylee Anthony's death.
The new information was revealed by a citizen, who is still being investigated, in a phone call last week, said prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick.
A jail official said the woman was in the same dorm as Casey for five days in June 2009. The woman told investigators sent by the state that she didn't have any conversation with Casey, Reuters reported.
According to a sheriff's office incident report, Casey's one-time jail neighbor had a 15-month-old son who drowned his family's pool in Orlando on Christmas Day 2007. Later, he was found by his grandfather.
Casey, 25, is charged with the murder of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee on June 16, 2008, and then storing her body in the trunk of a car.
However, defense attorneys are saying that Caylee drowned in the family's backyard pool and was found by her grandfather, who didn't report the accident.
Allen Moore, a jail spokesman said that there are no records, investigations or reports indicating any contact between Casey and the woman.
