Casey Anthony Verdict 'Not Guilty' but Parents Want to Talk to Dr. Phil
Cindy and George Anthony, the parents of the woman accused and subsequently acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter using duct tape and chloroform, have agreed to tell their story on the Dr. Phil show. It is unclear what will be discussed and what incriminating facts, if any, will emerge.
The interview will air Sept. 12 and will be exclusively for the media.
Dr. Phil said that the interview will enable Cindy and George to tell their side of the story.
Casey Anthony was recently dubbed "Most Hated Person in America" by research company E-Poll Market Research, which surveyed 1,100 people aged 13 and older. The poll revealed that 53 percent of participants that knew who Casey Anthony was and that 94 percent of those who knew who she really disliked her. 57 percent of those polled said that she is "creepy" and 60 percent said that she is "cold."
Anthony consistently partied after her child became "missing" in a "swimming pool accident," acquiring a new tattoo with the Italian words for "beautiful life" and entering herself into a "hot body" contest.
"Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family," the TV psychologist, Dr. Phil McGraw said in a statement, Christianpost reported.
The Los Angeles Examiner said that Casey will write a book in which she will recall growing up in her family.
During the trial, Anthony accused her father, age, of sexually molesting her since early childhood. The young woman also said that her brother molested her years ago.
The Anthonys have not asked for compensation for the interview, Dr. Phil said.
