Cassie Compton Update: Internet Believes Missing Girl Was Seen In TikTok Video

A now-deleted TikTok video is causing a stir on Twitter after users began suspecting the girl in the video was Cassie Compton, an Arkansas girl who went missing in September 2014 when she was 15 years old.

In the video, the girl, who appears to look like Compton, is seen sitting in the back of a car between two men, who are speaking, while she silently stares at the camera. The girl appears to either have bruisings around her eyes or is wearing dark eye shadow.

Authorities are now investigating the video after police began receiving dozens of calls about the girl’s resemblance to Compton, reported KATV, an ABC affiliate in Arkansas.

“We have investigators working on this right now and can’t release any other information right now,” Mark Duke, the police chief in Stuttgart, Arkansas, said in a statement. Stuttgart is located about 45 miles from Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas.

The Stuttgart Police Department also released a statement revealing it has reached out to other law enforcement agencies to help with the investigation.

“We appreciate all the tips and information about Cassie Compton. We have the video from TikTok and have the seen the Facebook posts. We are working diligently with the Arkansas State Police and FBI right now. Since this still an open investigation we can’t release any further information right now,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, web sleuths were able to get Compton’s name trending on Twitter by recirculating the video and demanding someone take action and help the girl in the car.

“I just saw this video on TikTok and I’m concerned... could this be Cassie Compton. Whoever sees this pls retweet, like, and share. Get this out there. #MissingPerson #cassiecompton,” one person wrote.

Another person wrote, “PLEASE BOOST THIS! I have reason to believe that this girl might be missing girl Cassie Compton who has been missing since 2014 and would now be 21!! If you look up Cassie’s age progression this girl looks almost identical to her! Even if she isn’t Cassie, she’s clearly in danger.”

Meanwhile, one person suggested the girl in the video could be Compton or another missing female. “PLEASE BOOST THIS THE GIRL IN THE PICTURE COULD BE EITHER OF THESE MISSING GIRLS NADIYA KEREZSI OR CASSIE COMPTON!!! #cassiecompton #nadiyakerezsi #MissingPerson #boost #findcassiecompton #findnadiyakerezsi” the individual wrote.

Tina Storz, a private investigator who has been investigating Compton’s disappearance, also contacted authorities due to the girl’s strong resemblance.

Compton went missing after attending a demolition derby in Dewitt with a friend. At the time, the teen returned home around 7 p.m. and left a few minutes later. She has not been seen since.

Compton was described as having blue eyes, blonde hair and a scar on her left cheek. She was listed at 5-foot-3 and weighing around 100 pounds when she disappeared.
