Next Monday is the midseason finale of ABC’s “Castle,” and the show will end 2014 with a Christmas special. The new episode has Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) on a case where a doctor has been executed by a man in a Santa suit and the crime has mafia connections. However, a sneak peek video from the episode, set to air on Dec. 8, shows some evidence that Castle himself might be on the naughty list this Christmas.

The clip shows Castle and Beckett at a strip club trying to get information about the case. Castle, though, is a little preoccupied with a group of strippers dressed in skimpy Santa costumes doing a provocative routine on stage. Castle is transfixed until Beckett snaps him out of it, reminding her new husband that they are there to work. Castle tries to brush off the incident, but it’s clear he’s been caught staring by his wife.

The video does not end with Castle’s wandering eyes, though. The couple then meet with a mob boss (and old friend of Castle's) named Dino Scarpella (Paul Ben Victor of “The Wire”) whom Castle swears is a nice guy. While at first Dino is glad to see Castle again, the mob boss does not seem too happy that his friend is both married to and working with a cop in his club. He does offer himself (and his henchmen) up for assistance on the case, but it is not clear if it’s a genuine offer or an underhanded threat. Could Castle and Beckett be in danger?

Will Castle and Beckett solve the Santa-themed case? Fans will have to tune in to see the newlyweds close out 2014 on “Castle” with the Season 7 midseason finale, Monday, Dec. 8 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
