CCTV Video Of Dog Entering A Supermarket And Stealing Donuts Goes Viral

A video of a theft at a supermarket in Brazil has been making rounds on social media, with people labeling the shoplifter as the "cutest thief ever."

The footage shows a dog casually walking into a supermarket, stealing a bag of coconut donuts off the bottom shelf and making a smooth exit. The playful dog was caught on CCTV camera on Thursday morning.

However, the dog reportedly dropped the packet outside and ran off. According to supermarket owner Paulo Cardoso, the dog possibly got scared when customers started yelling after it.

The dog paid another visit to the supermarket, where he got a warm treatment from the store’s employees.

"Customers thought it was fantastic for a dog to ‘rob’ a market. Me too, because I never seen it," Cardoso told G1, cited Daily Mail. "It is unheard of. But the puppy will become a customer if he does [return]. Let's take care of him."

The video, that was shared on YouTube, quickly went viral.

In a similar incident, a bird was "arrested" by the Dutch police after its owner was arrested for shoplifting this September. The tiny parakeet was considered a partner-in-crime because it was sitting on the suspect's shoulder. The local police did not have a birdcage, so the bird was put behind a regular cell with bread and water.

As it was petty theft, the police released the felon and his feathery friend, who promptly hopped back on his shoulder and left the station.
