CDPR's 'The Witcher 3' And 'Cyberpunk 2077' Can Be Played On This Tesla Car

Electric vehicle giant Tesla refreshed its latest Model S vehicle with a 10 teraflop gaming computer, allowing gamers to enjoy their favorite games like "The Witcher 3" and "Cyberpunk 2077" on the vehicle.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted about the arrival of the refreshed Tesla Model S. The executive shared an image of the vehicle's interior, noting that it will arrive in March 2021. The photo shows a screen, which is positioned next to the steering wheel, showing popular titles like "Cuphead," "Fallout Shelter" and "The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt," among others. In a subsequent tweet, Musk said that the vehicle can play the latest and controversial game from CD Projekt Red, "Cyberpunk 2077."

The Tesla CEO has long been teasing about the gaming capabilities of Tesla vehicles. In January 2020, he asked fans if they would want to play "The Witcher" on their Tesla. With the announcement that the new Tesla Model S now comes with a 10 teraflop gaming computer, the executive somehow highlights the in-car gaming computer capabilities to compete with next-generation gaming consoles' Xbox Series XIS and PS5. The Xbox Series X features 12 teraflops while the PS5 comes with 10.28 teraflops GPU power.

The games playable on the electric vehicle model are available at the Tesla Arcade. In the late part of 2020, Tesla rolled out the first level of "Cuphead" and a car karaoke mode in the vehicle's in-car software. Tesla cars are also capable of streaming Netflix shows through its Tesla Netflix theater. It appears that aside from these features, Tesla Model S features wireless controller compatibility that enables gamers to play their favorite titles from any seat.

At present, video games can only be played on Tesla vehicles while they are stationary or parking. It is not yet clear if the feature would be available when the cars are finally equipped with the highly awaited self-driving technology. The Tesla Model S Plaid has a starting price of $119,990 while the Tesla Model S Plaid Plus costs $139,990. The new models are expected to arrive in March 2021.
