We are all geared up to bid adieu to 2021 and welcome in the New Year. Just like last year, most of us will be ushering in the New Year at home with our friends and family. Keeping that in mind, we have brought to you some quick and easy recipes that would make for a delicious party snack.

French fries

Ingredients

Potato, salt, pepper and oil

Method

Chop the potatoes lengthwise while ensuring the pieces are neither too thick nor too thin. Place them in a bowl of iced water for about 15 minutes. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the potatoes in batches. Keep the flame low throughout. Drain the excess oil and place the fries on absorbent paper. Allow them to cool and sprinkle salt and pepper. Toss well and serve with ketchup.

Bread Pizza fingers

Ingredients

Bread, pizza sauce, toppings, cheese, seasoning and butter

Method

Take a slice of bread and top it with pizza sauce. Then add your favorite vegetables like tomatoes and bell peppers and load with lots of cheese. Bake it in the oven and your Bread Pizza is ready to be served.

Mug cake

Ingredients

Cocoa powder, powdered sugar, all-purpose flour, milk, baking powder, chocolate chips and vegetable oil or sunflower oil

Method

First, whisk together the milk and oil in a mug. Then add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and a pinch of salt, which is optional. Stir all the ingredients together and then add chocolate chips. Bake the mug cake in the microwave and let it cool and then, dig right in!

Grilled fish with grilled lemon

Ingredients

White fish, butter/ canola oil, garlic powder and pepper, lemon (quartered) and chopped fresh chives (as desired)

Method

Heat grill pan. Spread butter and canola oil on one side of the fillets before sprinkling it with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Place the fillets on the grill pan and once again spread butter and canola oil on them. Cook for 5 minutes and turn. Once both the sides are cooked, place a lemon into the grill pan, cut-side down and continue to cook the fish for 5-7 minutes. Spread remaining butter with canola oil onto fillets and let it melt.
