Celebrities On Thanksgiving: How Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, And More Celebrated Turkey Day [PHOTOS]
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks to one another and focus on family and loved ones. Whether that involves feasting on turkeys and stuffing or watching a football game, what's important is that the holiday brings people together. Many celebrities shared how they commemorated the holiday through photos and tweets. Check out how Chris Brown, Kim Kardashian and others spent Thanksgiving day.
Chris Brown
Chris Brown is currently in a rehabilitation center to work on his anger issues, but he did not spend Thanksgiving alone. His on-again off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran made sure to visit the 24-year-old, and she posted a picture of the two together.
Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner, momager of daughters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian, spent the holiday with her family, and she showed off all the food they consumed that evening. Though she and husband Bruce Jenner split earlier this year after 21 years together, that did not come between the pair celebrating the holiday together. Kris posted a photo of the “Kardashian & Jenner” menu being served Thanksgiving night, which included "Khloe's famous macaroni,” honey baked ham and salted caramel bread pudding. "Happy Thanksgiving!!! So thankful and grateful for friends and family....#Blessed," she tweeted along with the photos.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian spent the holiday with fiance Kanye West in Miami, Fla., which may mark the first time she has spent Thanksgiving without her immediate family. Her best friend, Jonathan Cheban, joined the pair as well. Earlier in the day, Kardashian commented on the significance of Thanksgiving, writing on Celebuzz, "I am so thankful for my family being close and always so supportive. I am extra thankful this year for my baby girl and am so happy I get to spend this Thanksgiving as a family with my daughter and fiancé."
LeAnn Rimes
LeAnn Rimes invited family and friends over to spend the holiday with her, her husband Eddie Cibrian, and her stepsons Mason and Jake. She shared a touching photo of the family in front of a Christmas tree at their home in Los Angeles. “Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you have a beautiful day and gain 10lbs. Feeling very grateful for a great love, great family & friends, my wonderful stepsons, new beginnings that are soon to come & all of you,” she wrote earlier in the day.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga enjoyed the holiday festivities not at home, but on the small screen. The pop star teamed up with the Muppets for a Thanksgiving television special this year on ABC15. Elton John joined her to sing “Gaga and the Jets,” an adaptation of John's hit "Bennie and the Jets.” While getting ready for the television special, the 27-year-old wrote to her fans, “I was getting ready for a tv today and I just burst into tears, all my beautiful costumes, the amazing stage shows. It’s all because of you.”
Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey shared an adorable photo of herself and the rest of her family, husband Nick Cannon, and 2-year-old twins Morrocan and Monroe for Thanksgiving. The family was in the middle of preparing a pecan pie for their feast that night at their New York City home, which has a great view of the Empire State Building. Later that day, Cannon tweeted, “"How do I explain to my kids that the first Thanksgiving was really just a meal before the Europeans jacked the Natives for their land?" He added, "We didn't land on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock landed on us . . . Now pass me the pecan pie!"
