Several celebrity couples called it quits this year. Just when fans thought the celebrities have found their their fairytale ending, these couples announced their heart-breaking split.

Here are five celebrity couples who parted way this year.

  1. Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser

The "Gilmore Girls" alum and the "Mad Men" actor joined the list of celebrity couples who ended their marriage this year. Kartheiser filed for divorce from Bledel on Aug. 10 with the Putnam Supreme and County Court in New York after eight years of marriage. The couple, who was always tight-lipped about their relationship, have not yet revealed the reason for their breakup. They share one child, a son, who was born in the fall of 2015.

2. Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney

The "Everywhere" singer decided that she no longer wants to continue her marriage with Carney, drummer of The Black Keys, and filed for divorce Friday.

"To say that I am totally devastated doesn't even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family," Branch said in a statement to USA TODAY. "The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness." The couple got married in April 2019 after getting engaged in 2017.

3. Crystal Renay and Ne-Yo

Renay filed for divorce from Ne-Yo on Aug. 1 after accusing the "Miss Independent" crooner of cheating throughout their marriage. Renay said she is "entitled to a divorce from [Ne-Yo] upon the ground that the marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation." The mother of three asked the court for primary custody of their three kids. She is also seeking temporary and permanent alimony as well as a "sufficient amount of child support."

4. Chanel Iman and Sterling Shephard

The pair announced their divorce in January after three years of marriage. They are now living separately, and are going to try and remain civil and friendly toward each other," a source told Us Weekly. According to court documents, Sterling has requested joint legal custody of their two children, Cali Clay, 3, and Cassie Snow, 2.

5. Sheree and Steve Burton

The "General Hospital" actor filed for divorce from his wife in July after announcing their split in May. Steve stated his wife was pregnant, but the child was not his. "She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine," he claimed.
