KEY POINTS

- The DMH-C5700NEX adds Amazon Alexa, Google Auto and Apple CarPlay support
- Pioneer also revealed a new subwoofer that is ideal for electric vehicles
Smart devices have integrated Amazon Alexa, Google and Apple services all over our houses, from TVs to refrigerators. However, those services seem fairly limited when it comes to integration in cars. Electronics giant Pioneer is here to help bridge this gap with their CES 2021 announcements.
The big one from Pioneer is the DMH-WC5700NEX. While the name may not be the most catchy thing out there, the DMH-WC5700NEX is an in-dash receiver that is flexible enough to be installed in most cars without too much hassle. Once installed, the DMH-WC5700NEX adds features like Alexa Built-in, Google Auto, Apple CarPlay, and access to a variety of apps that the stock in-dash receiver doesn’t support.
The DMH-WC5700NEX has a 6.8-inch screen and supports Hi-Res Audio playback capability, including FLAC file playback. The in-dash receiver also features Bluetooth support to connect mobile devices, is SiriusXM ready for those with satellite radio subscriptions, and has built-in HD Radio capabilities. Additionally, there is an input for a rear camera and a 13-band graphic equalizer.
While the DMH-WC5700NEX may seem similar to the previously released Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX in-dash receiver, the WC5700NEX is a little smaller and more versatile, allowing it to be installed in a wider range of vehicles. Pioneer was sure to mention that the WC5700NEX is supported in late model Chevrolet vehicles like the Camaro and Silverado.
A price or release date for the DMH-WC5700NEX has yet to be confirmed by Pioneer, however the company did mention that the in-dash receiver should be available this summer.
That wasn’t all for Pioneer at CES 2021. The company also revealed a new subwoofer for automobiles called the TS-WX010A. This is a compact subwoofer that is highly energy efficient, making it perfect for electric vehicles. The TS-WX010A is only nine inches wide and weighs less than three and a half pounds, making it ideal to install in the passenger side footwell.
To ensure compatibility, the TS-WX010A accepts both RCA line level and speaker level inputs. This means the subwoofer can connect to other aftermarket hardware or can be integrated into the factory speakers.
The TS-WX010A is going to be available starting later this month for $280.
