  • Chad Johnson was arrested on charges of robbery and domestic violence in February
  • He said the charges were "unsettling" to him
  • He added he had not talked to his former girlfriend for months

Chad Johnson, the 32-year-old American television personality, recently spoke about the domestic violence case filed against him and claimed he was "falsely accused" of physical violence.

"The Bachelorette" star was taken into police custody Feb. 24 after his 25-year-old former girlfriend, Annalise Mishler, had contacted 911 and alleged he had grabbed her phone and become violent with her as she attempted to call for help. He was arrested on charges of robbery and domestic violence.

On Monday, Aug. 3, night, Johnson exclusively spoke to Page Six about the case and mentioned it was "unsettling" to him that he was charged with violence even after his ex-girlfriend had done multiple interviews where she had admitted there was no physical abuse involved.

"It is unsettling to me that my ex did multiple TV interviews admitting there was no physical abuse," he said while adding, "All I did was punch a wall and throw her phone."

Johnson was originally charged with six counts including corporal injury, witness intimidation, trespassing, assault and battery and two counts of vandalism. However, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, four of the charges were later dismissed.

The 32-year-old was instead ordered to attend Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous along with domestic violence counseling meetings. He also received a restraining order which requires him to stay 100 yards away from Mishler.

"I believe the me too movement is an extremely important movement and unfortunately situations like this, where a man is falsely accused of something, dilutes the voices of a lot of women who have actually suffered from domestic violence. With all of that being said I believe my past relationships speak volumes as I have great relationships with most of my ex’s," Johnson mentioned in an emailed statement to the outlet

He said he had not talked to Mishler for months.

"I wish to never see, speak to, or speak of that woman ever again. All I want to do is get out of Los Angeles and far away from her so I can focus on my business, which is creating the Porn Palace in Las Vegas with my business partners by October," he added.
