Chad Ochocinco Tweets About Consequences Of Losing His Temper, Fans Think He’s Discussing Evelyn Lozada
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson’s candid response to a question on Twitter about how he manages to stay positive caused fans to suspect that he was talking about his 2012 domestic battery arrest following an argument with his ex-wife, Evelyn Lozada.
Evelyn and Chad’s relationship and breakup were documented on the earlier seasons of the VH1 reality series “Basketball Wives” when it was filmed in Miami.
At the time, viewers admired the couple and were excited to see more of the athlete on the show after he signed with the Miami Dolphins in June 2012. However, fans turned against the NFL player after he was arrested for headbutting Evelyn during an argument two months later.
On Thursday, Chad took to Twitter to share some advice with a fan who wanted to know how the 42-year-old avoids negativity. “What’s the secret? How do you stay so positive? Was it therapy? Not being funny...really asking for myself,” the fan tweeted.
Chad revealed that he made a huge mistake that put his career in jeopardy and was determined to make better decisions.
“I lost my temper for once in life for 3 seconds & it cost me a lifetime’s worth of work, I got it all back plus some after getting a 2nd chance & NOTHING will ever get me out of that happy space again,” he replied.
Although the football player didn’t name Evelyn in his post, fans thought he was talking about their relationship. “You talking about head-butted that lady I forgot her name .. so don’t let people get you out of character is what you saying,” one fan wrote.
One individual revealed that they were unhappy with how the incident affected the athlete’s public image.
“We all know Evelyn hit you first. I am still upset that you had to go through the humiliation when she is the violent one. She has berated and abused black women on TV for over a decade. She is the abuser. Forgive yourself,” the Twitter user replied.
Meanwhile, a football fan noted that he was disappointed he never got the chance to see Chad play for the Dolphins. “As a Dolphins fan, I was excited to see you represent the team. Sucks that we didn’t get that opportunity,” the fan wrote.
Chad was released from his contract with the Miami Dolphins shortly after his arrest and has not signed with an NFL team since then. In 2014, the wide receiver signed with the Canadian Football League team the Montreal Alouettes. However, he was not offered a contract to return to the team in 2016 and became a free agent.
