Michael B. Jordan got candid about the thing that made him cry the hardest last year and it had something to do with his late friend, Chadwick Boseman.
Jordan opened up about his grief after losing his dear friend in August. The "Creed" star admitted that he was so emotional after learning about the "Black Panther" star's death and it made him cry the most in the past year.
"Our relationship was a very personal one and had a lot of great moments -- some that I couldn't fully appreciate and fully understand until now," he told Vanity Fair. "I wish I had more time to have our relationship evolve, and grow, and become closer and stronger. We got a concentrated dose of Chadwick. He did more in his 43 years of life than most people have done in a lifetime. And he was here for the time he was supposed to be here, and he had his impact, and his legacy. That was clear with the abundance of love that he has gotten from people all over the world."
Jordan also recognized how incredible Boseman was by the way he touched other people's lives. Thus, it was very difficult and painful for people who knew the "21 Bridges" star, including him, to accept his passing.
"And losing him was…Yeah, man, it hurt. It hurt a lot. That's probably what made me cry the most this year," he continued.
Boseman succumbed to cancer last year after battling it for four years. He filmed several movies while undergoing chemotherapy without telling his co-actors about his health issues, making his death shocking and unexpected. Jordan praised the people in Boseman's life, including his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, for respecting his decision and keeping his illness a secret until his death as he wished.
"He's an incredible person," Jordan added. "His family and his wife are so strong. The people that he had around him are truly special people. To keep something like this quiet for so long -- our town is nearly impossible to do something like that in. It speaks to the type of person he was, to work as hard as he did into his last moments. It's truly incredible."
Boseman kept his cancer battle a secret because his mom taught him not to have people fuss over him. Also, he was a very private person and felt that in the business, people trip out about things, his longtime agent Michael Greene of Greene & Associates Talent Agency explained.
