Charles Baker Bites Chunk Out Of Jeffrey Blake?s Arm While Naked, Likened To Rudy Eugene Miami Cannibal Attack
A Florida man made headlines for a zombie cannibal attack after allegedly taking a bit out of a man's arm while high on drugs, according to several reports, drawing comparison to the Rudy Eugene incident in Miami in May.
According to NBC affiliate WPTV, Charles Baker, 26, stripped down naked and broke into his girlfriend's home in Palmetto Wednesday night. Baker then attacked a man named Jeffrey Blake, 48, taking a bite described by police as a chunk of meat out of his arm. Police used a Taser to subdue Baker.
Police said Baker was allegedly high on an unknown substance when the attack occurred. Upon his arrival to visit his three children, he reportedly began yelling, throwing furniture and stripping down to the buff. That's when Blake stepped in to stop him.
I don't know what was in his body but whatever it was, it was mighty powerful, Blake said, calling him wild.
Blake reportedly held Baker down until police arrived, which resulted in two deputies firing a taser to subdue the man. Baker resisted the first taser deployment, prompting police to use a handheld stun gun to eventually stop the attacker, according to reports.
Police told WPTV traces of marijuana and opiates were found in his bloodstream after he was handcuffed and arrested. Charles Baker was charged with aggravated battery at the Manatee County Jail.
The incident took place in front of two of Baker's children.
Taking clothes off in front of your six-year-old child? Blake asked Baker during the tussle. I feel bad for him. I don't know what he's going through.
Baker's attack has drawn comparisons to Rudy Eugene, who over Memorial Day weekend, was accused of attacking a homeless man, named Ronald Poppo, on Miami's MacArthur Causeway. The incident, dubbed a zombie cannibal attack, resulted in Eugene chewing off about 50 percent of Poppo's face. Eugene was fatally shot mid-attack on May 26, after reportedly growling at police officials, who responded to the scene.
