Charlie Daniels Band Member, Taz DiGregorio, Killed in Car Crash
Charlie Daniels Band long-time member Taz DiGregorio, 67, was killed in a car crash Wednesday.
The keyboardist and vocalist was an original member of the CDB. DiGregorio had been a part of the band for over 40 years, writing two of the band's hit songs, Devil Went Down to Georgia and The Legend of Wooley Swamp.
DiGregorio was driving on Interstate 40 in Tennessee on his way to meet the CDB tour bus when the accident occurred. He was schedule to depart for Cumming, Ga. to play with the band at the Cumming County Fair and Festival on Thursday.
The Charlie Daniels Band has cancelled their concert appearances for Thursday and Saturday after the tragic loss of their friend.
I am in shock now, Taz was one of my best friends, said Charlie Daniels in a press release. The CDB family has lost a great friend and musician. We traveled many miles together and shared so many nights on the road. We're going to miss you buddy. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. We send our deepest condolences to the family.
