Is Charlie Puth Dating Someone? Singer Says He Is 'Definitely' In Love
Charlie Puth revealed he is in love with someone he has known for a long time.
The "Attention" singer happily gave the update in his latest appearance on "The Howard Stern Show." He also performed a couple of tracks from his new album "Charlie," including a medley of classics from Tom Petty and Cyndi Lauper.
"I'm with somebody now," the 30-year-old singer replied when Stern asked whether he was single or in a relationship. Asked if he was in love, Puth promptly replied, "Yeah, definitely" and added he thinks this relationship is "it" for him.
Asked whether his girlfriend is "someone famous or not famous," Puth said, "She's someone that I grew up with in New Jersey...As my life gets more turbulent and I travel everywhere, it's nice to have someone close to you that you've known for a very long time."
The "Light Switch" singer, who was smiling coyly throughout the segment, also said his new flame "has always been very, very nice" to him.
He continued, "I would assume that when times inevitably are hard in the future — because what is life without valleys and peaks — she would be there for me as well."
Stern then asked Puth if he intends to get engaged with the mystery girl and the singer replied with a smile, "If I do, certainly the media won't know about it."
The singer added, "I'll go out of my way to make sure they don't know ... It becomes too much."
The "Left and Right" artist and songwriter last opened up about his relationship in March when he revealed plans to release his single, "That's Hilarious," which was inspired by a breakup in 2019.
"I'm really excited for the song to come out, but every time I hear it, I'm kind of brought back to a time that was really, really, really challenging in my life," he said in an emotional TikTok video. "It just rears its ugly head every time — sorry — every time that I hear it."
"I'm also really excited for you to hear it — but I just heard the master and it brought me back to 2019 which was the worst year of my life," he added.
