Charlize Theron teased fans about a potential sequel to her movie "The Old Guard."

Theron's action fantasy movie on Netflix was a hit. Due to "The Old Guard's" success, many are already looking forward to a sequel and Theron has recently revealed that they are working on it.

"We’re still pushing this one out," Theron told Variety.

"Let’s have a little resting period, but just given the fact that all of us really want to do it, I’m sure when it’s the right time, we’ll start the conversation."

The movie directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same title. The film had 72 million views in its first four weeks.

"It’s pretty nutty, right," said Theron, who plays the leader of a small group of immortal mercenaries in the film.

Prince-Bythewood is also hoping for a potential sequel. In fact, she admitted that she and writer Greg Rucka designed the film to be a trilogy.

“The graphic novel itself is a trilogy,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“Where the story goes is pretty phenomenal, so if the audience is for it, I think we are as well.”

The film ended with Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts) finding Quynh (Veronica Ngo), Andy’s (Theron) original partner, in his apartment.

"It's nice to finally meet you," Quynh told Booker.

The group has been searching for Quynh for years after she was cast into the ocean while inside an iron coffin. Unfortunately, their efforts to locate Quynh were not fruitful.

When Prince-Bythewood was asked about the ending, she credited it to the book.

“It was part of the graphic novel, and I always loved it because I felt there would have been a hole, if it didn’t end the way it did. There’s always a fear because you don’t want to annoy an audience. I know how I feel when things are left open, but for me, we told the story. It does have a beginning, middle, and end,” the director explained to Collider.

Meanwhile, Variety also noted that "The Old Guard" is not the only project on Theron's mind lately. She is also hosting a drive-in screening of “Mad Max: Fury Road” on July 31 for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
