Check Your Flight Status Using Google Assistant This Holiday Season; Here's How
Amid all the travel chaos, Google has the right tool to help passengers get through the holiday season. People can check their live flight status through Google Assistant during their holiday travel.
With the new live flight status feature, you can easily check and see whether your flight is on time, delayed, or canceled. The feature will come in handy especially when you're traveling during New Year's amidst the crowd and mayhem at airports.
Google uses AI to predict flight delays by looking at the timings of arrival and departure for the same flight in the past.
To get started, you need to enable a setting called Personal Results. The setting is important because it ensures that Google Assistant is aware of all the relevant details like the city you're currently in and your email address. That way, it can share all the necessary information regarding the flights with you.
With a quick voice command, you can get all the important details like fares, routes, delays, and schedules for upcoming flights. You can even find fun things to do at your desired destination.
How to check flight status using Google Assistant
- First, make sure you have Google Assistant configured on your smartphone. If not, long-press the home button to fire up the Assistant on your Android phone and complete the on-screen instructions to set up Google Assistant.
- You can ask the question "Hey Google, what's the status of my flight (include your flight number and destination)?"
- The Assistant will respond with your flight status. It also keeps a tab on your emails. Hence, if you have your flight tickets in your email, it will help the Assistant to fetch updated flight details right away.
- Google will then search its flight database and provide you with the most up-to-date information on your flight, including its current status, estimated arrival time, and any delays/cancellations.
How to plan a trip using Google Assistant?
When you're planning a trip, there's a lot to think about, including where to go, what to do, how to get there, and more. Google Assistant can help you with all of that, and more. Just say "Hey Google, help me plan my trip to [destination]."
You'll then be able to see relevant information about your destination, including popular attractions, things to do, and more. You can also get directions to your destination and find out about transportation options in the area. Plus, you can use Google Assistant to keep track of your travel plans and itinerary.
