Chelsea remains unfazed despite Romelu Lukaku’s shenanigans.
Chelsea star Lukaku recently caused a stir after shockingly suggesting in an interview that he and Blues boss Thomas Tuchel do not see eye to eye.
Lifting the lid on the matter, Tuchel insisted that he’s not the type of coach who gets carried away with what his players say in front of the media. Instead, he sticks with the conversations he’s having with them in private. and this applies to Lukaku as well.
“[Just keep] training, training, playing,” Tuchel told ESPN Brasil of Lukaku’s controversial interview. “Training, playing, training, sleeping, eating good, training, playing, sleeping, eat good, drink a lot of water, sleep, train and don’t give interviews.”
“We have chats with a lot of players, how we want them to have in position, where they should be when we arrive in certain spaces. This is absolutely a super-normal chat and we have it with Romelu,” he continued.
Tuchel added, “[So] I don’t enter in these discussions and like ‘oh, there is something going on’ because there is absolutely zero going on. That’s why I don’t need to understand why he did it. It does not make it better, but that is my situation. And I will not enter in finding reasons now to understand the interview, I don’t want to because I don’t have to and I don’t have a reason.”
The German further stressed that as far as he is concerned, there’s nothing to address between him and Lukaku at this point.
“We have zero problem and, OK, he gave an interview so maybe he has a problem so he needs to speak up,” he pointed out. “I don’t have one.”
Tuchel made the statement in response to a recent admission from Lukaku, who told Sky Sports that he’s “not happy” at Chelsea.
"Physically I'm doing great. I'm just not very happy with the situation, but that's normal," Lukaku confessed. "I think the boss has decided to play a different formation, but I have to stick at it and get on with it professionally. ”
"I'm not happy with the situation, but it's my job and I mustn't give up," he added.
Ironically, while all these are happening outside the pitch, the 28-year-old has begun bagging goals for the Blues once again.
In fact, Lukaku scored in the club’s last two games against Aston Villa and Brighton.
