Chelsea to face Manchester United in UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final, Spurs handed Real Madrid tie
Chelsea will face Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, while Real Madrid will face Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are up against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Quarter-final draw that took place at Wembley on Friday, and it is a replay of the 2008 final that everyone will look forward to as Chelsea will host fellow-English rivals Manchester United in the first-leg on Wednesday, April 6. United have the slight advantage of playing the second leg at home on Tueday, 12 April.
Champions League debutant Tottenham Hotspur's manager Harry Redknapp was candid about avoiding Barcelona. However, he has been handed a tie against Barcelona's bitter-rivals Real Madrid. The first-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu will take place on Tueday, 5 April while the return fixture will be played out on Wednesday, 13 April.
Everyone was hoping to avoid Barcelona, but one of the teams had to play them and it will be Shakthar Donetsk, who will travel to the Nou Camp for the first leg.
Reigning champions Inter Milan will host Schalke 04 in the first leg.
The winners of Inter or Schalke 04 will face the winners of Chelsea and Manchester United in the semi-finals while the winners of Real Madrid or Tottenham will face the winners of Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk in the other match up.
