Chelsea Rumors: USMNT Star Wants To Get More Playing Time, Leave Chance To Fate
KEY POINTS
- Christian Pulisic is unhappy coming off the bench for Chelsea
- The Blues may be watching out for USMNT star's health
- Pulisic is performing well as of late and could be back to the starting unit
Christian Pulisic of Chelsea knows that he has a whole lot to offer if he will be used more on the field.
Although he made the key assist to help push the Blues to the UEFA Champions League final, coming off the bench was something he was not too happy about.
There is a reason for Pulisic to be frustrated. Considering he has been performing well in the past games of the Blues, starting for Chelsea seemed like a no-brainer.
Instead, he found himself starting the game on the bench and behind Timo Werner, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.
“I was very frustrated, there’s not much else to say,” Pulisic said. “I wanted to play from the beginning, as I always do. I’ve had to continue to prove myself over and over again, but as always I just reach out to God and gives me strength. With that behind me, nothing can stop me really.”
Looking ahead, it remains to be seen what Blues manager Thomas Tuchel had in mind.
Although the American may not be fine with it, it remains that the German coach may have a certain strategy in mind.
Regardless, it is something that Pulisic is moving on from. He is mature enough to know that there may be something deeper to the move.
The best he can do now is to give his best once his number is called to perform.
“I know what I have to do when I get on the field, do my bit, be creative, and try to finish the game off strong. Luckily, I was able to do that,” the 22-year-old midfielder stated.
Considering Pulisic has been through a lot, suffering injuries since debuting in 2019-20, the comeback story of the USMNT star is something worth noting.
He has managed to weather adversity and return to his old form. The Blues may be taking a cautious approach on Pulisic for fear of his health.
Regardless, the Pennsylvania native has shown he can rise to the occasion–something that is bound to happen soon.
