Chelsea Transfer News: Falcao, Fellaini, Huntelaar and Willian Involved in Latest Speculation

Chelsea defender David Luiz has become the latest name to weigh in on a potential move to Stamford Bridge for Atletico Madrid front man Radamel Falcao.

Luiz played in opposition to Falcao on Wednesday evening as Brazil drew a friendly international 1-1 with Colombia and later said that he would love to see the prolific 26-year-old in the same side as him.

“He would fit perfectly in to the squad," Luiz said, according to Sky Sports. "We would all be happy [if he signed] because Falcao would undoubtedly a great player for our team. He is very difficult to stop. He is an excellent striker."

Chelsea are seen as one of the main contenders for Falcao’s, sure to be hotly contested, signature, although Manchester City and Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on the former Porto man.

Falcao, who has scored 10 goals in as many league games this season, recently hinted that he could be interested in a move to England.

“The opportunity of playing in a different league and for a different club will come at the right time,” he revealed, according to Sky Sports.

"I don't stop dreaming; on the contrary, I know at some point I might want to move to a different team.

"But I still have three years of contract with Atletico Madrid and that's the reality."

If Chelsea ultimately lose the race for Falcao then there are also other options being discussed in the press. One leading striker who looks all-but certain to be available either in January or next summer is Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The prolific striker will be out of contract with Schalke at the end of the season.

Huntelaar has been linked with several Premier League clubs—including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool—and his agent, Arnold Oosterveer, has said that the 29-year-old will soon decide his future.

“He’s had offers from England, Italy and Spain,” Oosterveer claimed, according to the Sun. “It’s also possible he could stay in Germany.

“He wants his future planned by the winter.

“In the next 45 days he wants to know his next project and it will be decided by his football ambitions and not by money.

“His dream is to fight to win titles in Europe and to have chances to be successful, because today he is one of the best strikers in Europe.”

Another leading transfer target for the Blues is said to be Marouane Fellaini. The Everton midfielder has long been linked with Chelsea, with recent reports suggesting that a £30 million offer was being prepared for the 24-year-old in January.

Yet, the physically-imposing Belgium international has said that he is no rush to leave Goodison Park.

“There is interest in me,” admitted Fellaini, according to ESPN. “But Everton are an ambitious club as well," he said. "I don't think they'll let their best players go just like that. I want to play for one of the biggest clubs one day. But I am patient."

There has also been continued discussion about Chelsea’s interest in Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Willian.

The Blues are reported to have had a bid turned down for the Brazilian in the summer, but speculation about a move has resurfaced following his impressive performances against Chelsea in the Champions League. Shakhtar’s manager, Mircea Lucescu, has said that the 24-year-old, who is also thought to be interesting Tottenham and Inter Milan, will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

"If [Inter president Massimo] Moratti asks me about Willian, I will tell him that Shakhtar want to achieve things in Europe and will not sell their players,” the Romanian said, according to TalkSport. “There's the buy-out clause, though, which is €35 million (£28m) for Willian.

"Chelsea paid €31m (£25m) for Oscar this summer. The difference between Willian and Oscar is that Willian is much more mature, and has already plenty of Champions League experience and has played in a strong European league for years.

"Chelsea wanted to sign Willian this summer for €20m (£16m), but we turned them down. They went for Hazard for over €30m (£24m) instead. The fact remains that we do not want to sell him."
