Chelsea Transfer Rumor: Blues Competing With Juventus for £24 Million Argentine Hitman?
If the new reports are to be believed, London club Chelsea are set to lose their long-term striking target, Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid’s Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, to Italian Serie A club Juventus, according to the Italian media.
Italian newspaper La Stampa has most recently reported that the Serie A club have decided to make Higuain their top target and lure him away to the Juventus Stadium if the team qualifies for next season's Champions League.
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas had been previously linked with a move for the Argentine forward, who has fallen behind Frenchman Karim Benzema in the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu over the months. The Blues are themselves facing striking problems with the exit bound Ivorian veteran Didier Drogba and out of form Spaniard Fernando Torres.
It is being said that Juventus will start the bidding at £24 million, according to a Talksport.co.uk report.
