“Chicago Med” premiered an emotional episode in Season 2 last week in which Nurse April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) lost her baby. She was scheduled for a dilation and curettage procedure (D&C) which removes the contents of the uterus. Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) comforted her colleague when she heard the devastating news.

What will happen in the NBC medical drama this week?

Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) is going to face a series of ethical and moral dilemmas in “Chicago Med” Season 2, episode 16. According to the official synopsis, the doctor will treat a young coma patient who has shockingly becomes pregnant. She tries to help her parents make a decision about their comatose daughter’s pregnancy. Disturbing questions surrounding rape, assault and ethics are raised when Manning makes the alarming discovery.

Things get worse when the parents must choose whether to save their daughter’s life or her baby’s. In the end, they choose to save the baby’s life rather than their daughter’s, even if the unborn child was conceived by rape. However, it looks like the situation gets out of hand because in the promo of the upcoming episode, Manning tells the staff that they need to call the police. Who assaulted the poor coma patient?

Elsewhere in the hospital, April must deal with the repercussions of losing her unborn child.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sarah Reese (Sarah DiPillo) will be busy dealing with a troubled teenager in a psychiatric facility who reached out to her.

Another interesting case will be seen in this episode of “Chicago Med.” Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) and Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) will work hard to save a young girl and her mother from Ecuador. The girl collapsed midflight and her mother made great sacrifices for her.
