Chinese snake town raises over 3 million snakes for food (EXOTIC PHOTOS)
Zisiqiao village in Zhejiang Province, China, is known as the “snake town”, breeding over 3 million snakes a year for food and medicinal purposes.
According to Yang Hongchang, head of a snake breeding business in the village, the farmers there breed not cows or pigs but multiple kinds of snakes to meet the increasing demand. Some of the snakes, according to Yang, are also exported overseas to United States, Germany, Japan, and Korea.
