Is Chris Brown trying to make a bold statement? That seems to be the question after his two latest tattoos are causing a media frenzy.

Just last week, Brown debuted fresh ink on his neck that some speculated was Rihanna, his ex-lover. Now, he has gotten a large tattoo in the same place Rihanna got her newest body art -- across his stomach.

John Petro, who inked the singer, posted a picture of Brown's new fighter jet tattoo on Instagram, with the caption," "About to go in on this #fighterjet #f16 #plane #tattoo on #chrisbrown."

Rihanna recently got a tattoo of an Egyptian goddess, also located on her midsection with wings spread beneath the Barbadian singer's breasts. It is in honor of her grandmother, who lost her battle to cancer this summer.

"Goddess Isis -- Complete Woman -- Model for future generations -- #GRANGRANDOLLY," she wrote on her Twitter Sunday. "Always in and on my heart," Rihanna wrote on twitter alongside the photo.

Earlier this month, Chris Brown revealed a tattoo on his neck that was thought to be a facial portrait of Rihanna. The black-and-white image on Brown's neck shows a woman with a bone structure strikingly similar to that of Rihanna. Her lips are covered in stitches and she looks like she has a black eye and bruising on the right side of her face.

Sources close to Brown told TMZ that any similarities the picture has with Rihanna's face are simply coincidental, as "It's a random woman. Brown defended the image, writing on twitter: "I'm an artist and this is art. Dia de los Muertos."

His rep also told E! News that the neck art is a cross between "a sugar skull and a MAC cosmetics design he saw," according to the Daily News. Sugar skulls are associated with the Mexican celebration Dia de los Muertos, or, Day of the Dead.

Both Rihanna and Brown are known to enjoy new body art, as Rihanna has over 15 tattoos, including a handgun on her ribs, a pistol on her thigh, and stars on the back of her neck. In 2009, while she was still with Brown, they got matching star tattoos on the back of their necks.

In a candid interview with talk show host Oprah in August, Rihanna openly admitted that she is still in love with the 23-year-old singer, who is now involved with someone else. "We love each other and we probably always will," she said.
