Chris Brown crowned big winner at the 2011 BET Awards
The BET Awards took place Saturday night in Los Angeles. Chris Brown took home a number of awards including Best Male R&B Artist and Best Collaboration for Look at me Know, featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.
The awards show marked a comeback for Brown as he won a total of four awards. For the award of Best Male R&B Artist he beat out Bruno Mars, Usher, Trey Songz and CeeLo Green.
Brown also have an amazing performance of his two latest singled She Ain't You and Look at Me Now>
All my fans are everything to me, Brown told The Hollywood Reporter as he accepted his award. I know it's been a long road. I just appreciate every blessing that's been put in front of me.
Brown has had his fair share of scandal before the awards ceremony. Last week he allegedly used a homophobic slur directed at a cameraman at a parking garage.
He later used Twitter to apologize for his use of words.
I have total respect for Gay community and my intention was not to insult anyone in it, he tweeted.
Other awards of the night include Best New Artist for Wiz Khalifa, Best Actor for Idris Elbra and Best Actress for Taraji P. Henson. Michael Vick won the award for Sportsman of the Year while Serena Williams took home the award for Sportswoman of the year. The Young Stars Award was a tie for Jaden Smith and Willow Smith.
Another highlight of the night, though, was the tribute and Lifetime Achievement Award that was presented to Patti LaBelle. CeeLo Green kicked off the tribute to LaBelle while performing dressed like her. Marsha Ambrosius and Shirley Caesat also performed. LaBelle herself also took the stage to sing a medley.
