Chris Brown Takes 'Full Responsibility' For Past Wrongs, He Tells Ryan Seacrest
Chris Brown spoke about fatherhood and ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran in a recent interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest. The 26-year-old rapper said he still loves his ex, but his priorities in life have changed. Brown said he wants to be a good father to 1-year-old daughter Royalty and wants to arrange her playdates with famous Hollywood kids.
“I’m going to be honest and be a man about it and just take it one day at a time,” Brown told Seacrest. The rapper said he cannot promise anything to anyone at the moment as it “takes time for all wounds [to heal].” He also took “full responsibility” for his wrongdoings and his troubled past. (One assumes this would include Brown's notorious assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.)
Tran recently dumped Brown on Twitter after it was revealed that he fathered a baby girl with model Nia Guzman. Tran wrote on Twitter that she cannot take “baby drama” anymore and wished “best of luck” to Brown and his family. However, Brown has accepted the baby completely and calls the little girl a “blessing in disguise.”
The rapper was spotted carrying Royalty in his lap at the recent Billboard Music Awards and he even posted photos of her on Instagram. “There comes a time when people kind of have to grow up and become more of an adult and take on different responsibilities,” Brown said about becoming a dad.
He said that having a daughter gives him a chance to “teach her the right path and also be a father” in her life. Brown said it gives him immense pleasure to see a smile on his daughter's face and watch her do the “littlest things.”
About his relationship with Tran, Brown said that he is “not a hateful person” and he “still loves her” but right now he believes he “needs to focus on being the best father” he can be to Royalty. His mission is to arrange a playdate for his daughter “with the young Hollywood kids.” The rapper wants his daughter to mingle with North West (daughter of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West), Blue Ivy (daughter of Beyoncé and Jay Z) and King Cairo Stevenson (son of rapper Tyga).
