Chris Hemsworth's 'Biggest Challenge' Is Teaching His Children Math
KEY POINTS
- Chris Hemsworth is teaching math to children
- He is currently with his family in Australia
- He joined "The Graham Norton Show" via video chat
With production of most of the movies coming to a grinding halt, Chris Hemsworth is currently practicing social distancing with his family in Australia. The actor joined “The Graham Norton Show” as a guest through a video chat and revealed that the “biggest challenge” he is currently facing is teaching math to his children.
In a video that has been released online, Hemsworth pointed out that he barely passed out of school and now he is expected to teach his children. He said that parents who have this added responsibility should be able to relate to the challenges he is facing.
One of the problems for Hemsworth is that the way they teach math in schools has evolved over the years and it is a little different from the way he learnt it when he went to school. The actor apparently texted his daughter’s teacher about it and the teacher told him that things have changed.
Hemsworth jokingly admitted that he has decided that his family is going to be “a little bit behind” and a little “dumber.” The family, the actor joked, has accepted that the children will be behind because of Hemsworth’s lack of teaching skills. He added that if it was teaching in a movie he would go through the process like “Good Will Hunting” and it would have been “very impressive,” but he can’t do that in real life.
Apart from teaching children math, Hemsworth has also been spending time keeping fit and meditating. In another segment of “The Graham Norton Show,” the actor revealed that he has a mobile application that is aimed at teaching meditation techniques to children. The application has guided relaxation sessions led by the actor in his deep voice and apparently many women fans use it even though it is meant for children.
The coronavirus lockdown has meant that many of the talk shows have to improvise by chatting with their guests through video conferencing and releasing old videos. A throwback clip of Hemsworth on “The Graham Norton Show” was about the actor playing a Scottish character in the film “The Huntsman.” One of the reviews of the film called it the “worst Glaswegian accent since Fat Bas-ard,” but the actor defended his portrayal by saying that he was going for a Celtic vibe.
