Chris Watts Update: Killer Thrives On Sending 'Racy' Letters From Prison After Murders

Chris Watts, who was convicted of murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters, is reportedly sending "racy" letters to several women as he serves his three consecutive life sentences.

Watts, 35, is serving his time at a maximum-security prison in Wisconsin, where he has corresponded with women for several years.

"They send sexy pictures, and he responds," a source told People. "There are a lot of women who think he's handsome and misunderstood. They send a lot of letters."

The insider, who has spoken with Watts several times since his incarceration, revealed the convicted murderer uses the correspondences to help pass the time.

"He's got nothing else to do," the source said. "So he feeds his ego in that way. Because he's not popular at all in prison. He's in protective custody. The only outlet he has is with these letters."

Watts has purchased a large number of stamps and paper from the commissary, according to People. Prisoners are allowed to correspond as long as there are no safety threats.

While prisoners cannot receive or send pornography, there are no restrictions against suggestive photos.

"I don't know what he's hoping to get out of these letters," the insider shared. "But these women are very important to him. They're really all he's got."

The amount of mail Watts received has reportedly increased after the 2020 Netflix documentary "American Murder: The Family NextDoor," which detailed the murder cases.

Watts, who was having an affair with his co-worker, was found guilty in the strangling of his wife Shanann on Aug. 13, 2018, in their Colorado home.

He then drove out to an old job site where he disposed of her body and smothered his daughters, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3.

After initially denying any involvement with their disappearance, Watts eventually admitted to murdering his family.
