Chrishell Stause has revealed that she and real estate broker Jason Oppenheim started dating months before they announced their relationship.
On Monday, the "Selling Sunset" star, 40, spoke with E! News' "Daily Pop," where she shared fresh details about her love life. Stause confirmed that she and the 44-year-old Oppenheim Group founder had already been dating for two months before they made their relationship Instagram official on July 28.
"It's just one of those things. You don't want to share with everybody and get all their opinions before you really know what it is," Stause said. "We really were really private and secretive for as long as we could until we realized the walls were closing in. People were getting a little savvy to it."
Now, however, the former "Days of Our Lives" star and Oppenheim have no problem letting the world know.
"We made it to a point where we're really happy to share it because we knew exactly what it was, so it's all good," Stause explained.
They revealed their romance last month while on a European vacation with Jason's twin brother Brett Oppenheim, Amanza Smith, Mary Fitzgerald and her husband Romain Bonnet as well as model Tina Louise.
According to Stause, her "Reality Games" co-host, Fitzgerald, was the first among her close pals to know about her romance with Oppenheim. "We work together constantly. She's our best friend," she said.
Stause also confirmed that Fitzgerald, who has been happily married to her husband Romain for three years now, dated Oppenheim in the past. However, she stressed that it happened a long time ago and that there is no awkwardness between them.
"That was so many years ago," she explained. "I just feel like, we're all best friends at this point. Her and Romain [Bonnet] are so happy. It just feels like a family business...In fact, it was fine that she knew because she could kind of detract any [attention] because Mary's there, so we're all just hanging out as a group."
She also assured fans that there is no behind-the-scenes drama and the things that they have seen are just from a reality TV angle, including the rumors that Fitzgerald is Oppenheim's "favorite" agent.
"It's so funny how the show twists things, the real dynamics in the office, because they don't go around giving us listings," Stause explained. "If anyone knows real estate, you have to go out and get your own listings. Mary's always going to be the rock in the office, somebody we all lean on and go to when we need advice."
Prior to her romance with Oppenheim, Stause dated "Dancing With the Stars" pro Keo Motsepe following her divorce from Justin Hartley. However, their romance was short-lived and they split in February.
An unnamed insider told Us Weekly in March that Stause was planning to take a break from dating after enduring two heartbreaks in the past two years.
In an interview with E! News last month while promoting her DSW collection, Stause said she was living her "best life" after spending the last year healing.
"I feel like it was a crazy year," she said. "Last year with the lockdown and everything, I really spent that time to heal and that's when I started writing the book."
She added, "I feel like now, I really do feel like I'm living my best life and that's the book I wrote coming out. It's 'Under Construction' because living my best life took a little work and it's true. But now, I really feel like I can celebrate this journey that I've had."
