Christian Louboutin is synonymous with luxury shoes and the glass slipper is synonymous with Cinderella, so why wouldn't the two collaborate?

Everyone knows in the 1950 Cinderella that when Cinderella goes to the ball that she has to leave before the clock strikes 12 or everything will transform back into it's normal form. While dancing with the prince, Cinderella runs out before 12 and leaves behind one of her glass slippers. The prince uses the glass slipper to pick which one of the sisters was his Cinderella.

The shoes will be available this summer, but no price information has been released. Christian Louboutin shoes range in price from $300 and up. Most pairs fall within the $1,000 range.

I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world, Louboutin said.

Cinderella has been adapted for over 100 years in film, theatre, television and books. However, the most famous adaption is Walt Disney's 1950 cartoon movie, where the glass slipper became an iconic symbol of the movie. Cinderella will be released this summer on Blu-Ray and DVD.

It will be interesting to see what the glass slippper will look like with Christian Louboutin's signature red bottoms.
