Christie Brinkley: 'Chicago' Star Wants Ex-Husband Peter Cook to Pay for Abusive Emails
Former model Christie Brinkley is at odds with ex-husband, Peter Cook, who she alleges is sending her nasty, abusive emails -- and she wants him to pay up for the trouble he's caused.
More specifically, she wants him to pay $140,000 in fines for violating court orders from 2008 through the present day, as well as $32,000 to cover educational expenses for their children, the New York Daily News reported.
Peter keeps trying to control Christie, and he can't deal with the fact that he can't control her, a source told the NYDN.
Cook is reportedly fighting back, and accusing Brinkley of the same bad cyber behavior.
His attorney, James Winkler, told the NYDN that Cook is merely defending himself and that Brinkley is not allowing him to exercise his parental rights.
She doesn't communicate with him about the children, Winkler said, the NYDN reported. She doesn't provide information. She is inflexible about parenting time although she demands flexibility from Peter.
Brinkley and Cook got married in 1996. It was the model's fourth marriage. They had a daughter, named Sailor, and Cook adopted the son Brinkley had with ex-husband Richard Taubman. Brinkley also has a daughter with ex-husband Billy Joel.
Brinkley and Cook divorced in 2008 after Cook's porn addiction and an affair with an 18-year-old woman surfaced.
And those weren't the only problems, it seemed.
In divorce proceedings, Brinkley accused Cook of being rough with all three of the children.
Daughter Alexa reportedly accused Cook of pushing her head into a bucket of water and pushing her down the stairs, both of which he denied, according to a People magazine report.
At times he was too strong, too overwhelming with his use of force, Brinkley testified in 2008, People magazine reported.
A court-appointed psychiatrist recommended that Brinkley get custody of the children, but that she and Cook both undergo therapy, CNN reported.
Brinkley is famous for her long and fruitful modeling career, which includes appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue.
Britain's Daily Mail reported in February that Brinkley is one of the world's richest models.
She may be pushing 60, but she's still turning heads.
She is set to reprise her role as Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago.
Her run is scheduled from April 6 through April 27, according to the musical's website.
