Christina Aguilera Weight Gain: Singer Supposedly ‘Loves Her Curves’

Christina Aguilera's recent weight gain has been quite a popular topic of conversation.

Talk of Christina Aguilera's new, curvier figure increased after the pop singer appeared at the American Music Awards in a skin-tight Herve Leger white bandage dress.

Critics, gossip Web sites and Twitter were all aflutter as people poked fun at Aguilera's robust figure. Some even speculated that she might be pregnant.

But RadarOnline is reporting that Aguilera is not bothered in the least by all the haters.

The 30-year-old does not want to be a rail thin waif. She is happy in her body.

Christina loves her curves, a close friend of Aguilera's exclusively told RadarOnline.com. She is not pregnant! She's a Latina woman with curves and since when is it not ok to have curves?

Aguilera reportedly has told her friends that she is proud of her body.

She feels like she is setting an example for women and young girls, especially Latinas. She's very proud of her curves. Christina thinks she is a good role model - not everyone is super skinny and she wants girls to embrace their body type, said the source.

The pop star even supposedly insists that she will continue wearing skimpy clothing.

It's not what you look like in a dress, it is how you feel and it is about owning your dress. If you want to wear a tight dress then own it. She says you need to be happy in your own skin the way she is happy in hers.

Back in October, Aguilera faced the first bout of criticism over her weight after she performed at a Michael Jackson Tribute Concert on Oct. 8. The singer performed in a super skimpy outfit - a black leotard with fishnet tights and a leather jacket.

Internet bloggers and gossip publications alike went crazy blasting Aguilera for her outfit choice. Even Kelly Osbourne had something to say.

[Christina] called me fat for so many f---ing years, reality-star Osbourne said of the fellow 5 foot 2 inch celebrity. F--- you, you're fat, too, she went on, recorded on E!'s Fashion Police show. Maybe she is just becoming the fat b---h she was born to be.

When she first came on the music scene, Aguilera was very thin. The noticeable change has had people talking.
