Christina And Tarek El Moussa Update: 'Flip Or Flop' Fans Are Reportedly Upset With Seminar Fail
Some fans are upset with “Flip or Flop” stars Christina and Tarek El Moussa-- and it has nothing to do with their breakup. The couple disappointed their followers after they did not show up to a seminar about how to flip houses, Radar Online wrote in an exclusive report Monday.
At least six people complained to the Federal Trade Commission about the El Moussas after the HGTV stars were a no-show at Zurixx’s Success Path Education, which is a financial education company. Even though Tarek and Christina never said they would be there, advertisements made it seem like they would, fans claimed.
“Tarek, Christina, or one of their team members will attend each event,” the Success Path class’ website says, according to Radar Online. “Exactly who will attend each event varies. Running their successful house-flipping business, coaching and mentoring Success Path students, filming their TV show, and a strong commitment to their young family means that, unfortunately, Tarek and Christina are unable to make it to every event. They are proud to partner with trusted real estate experts who teach Success Path strategies on their behalf.”
While it’s free to sign up, some participants claimed they were forced to purchase additional seminars for nearly $2,000. After that, they were advised to enroll in a “Diamond Enrollment” package for more than $40,000.
The El Moussas have not responded to the controversy. They stars shocked fans when they announced their split last month.
“Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage,” the El Moussas said in a joint statement to Us Weekly Dec. 12. “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed. We chose to get counseling to sort out our relationship. Together, we have decided to separate while we reevaluate the future of our marriage. During this process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be.”
