Christmas Eve 2020 Store Hours: What Time Does Walmart, Target, Best Buy Close?

Major retail stores across the U.S. have recently announced their operating hours for this year’s Christmas Eve shopping.

In a holiday season that's been unlike previous years, most stores will close by 6 p.m., while others are aiming to close their doors at 8 p.m. Major retailers are expecting long lines in parking lots and in front of stores, which will limit the number of shoppers allowed inside.

Many shoppers are expected to choose same-day delivery options due to USPS shipping delays. The U.S. Postal Service has reportedly been hard-hit by the novel coronavirus pandemic, with nearly 19,000 of the agency’s 644,000 workers isolating due to health concerns.

The staff shortage has led to packages stacking up at some facilities. Processing plants have started refusing to accept new mail shipments. Some packages also sit on trucks for days while staff members sort out the loads.
