'Christmas At the Golden Dragon' Hallmark Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
Hallmark Channel's merry holiday season continues with the newest "Countdown to Christmas" holiday premiere, "Christmas at the Golden Dragon." The film, starring Kara Wang and Osric Chau, premieres Sunday night.
The film is sure to be a treat for Hallmark fans as it has a huge ensemble cast filled with faces that are both familiar and new. Wang, for example, is new to Hallmark, but is recognizable from her roles as Sumi on "Good Trouble" and Lt. Callie "Halo" Bassett in "Top Gun: Maverick." Chau, meanwhile, has appeared in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' "Morning Show Mysteries," and Hallmark Channel's "Matching Hearts."
The ensemble cast is also full of faces that fans may know. They include Markian Tarsiuk ("A Homecoming for the Holidays"), Sharon Crandall ("Romance in Style"), Vincent Cheng ("A Mrs. Miracle Christmas"), Sara canning ("The Christmas Yule Blog"), Barbara Niven ("Chesapeake Shores"), Antonio Cupo ("A Glenbrooke Christmas") and Jason Fernandes ("Cruel Summer").
So what can fans expect from the film? Let's find out.
"Growing up, Romy (Wang) and Rick (Chau) spent the holidays working at their parents' popular Chinese restaurant, the Golden Dragon," a synopsis for the film reads. "When Romy's boyfriend Blake (Tarasiuk) invites her to spend the holidays with his family in Vermont, she is thrilled that her parents let her off the hook, so she can finally experience a 'real Christmas.' Her brother Rick currently works for the restaurant full-time while he figures out his future, but secretly harbors a passion for cooking. When Rick and Romy's parents (Crandall, Cheng) announce they will be closing the Golden Dragon for good just before the holidays, the siblings must each figure out what that means for their futures."
However, Rick and Romy aren't the only ones who will be left reeling from the news.
"Also impacted by the news are the landmark restaurant's loyal patrons and staff: workaholic executive Veronica (Canning) who longs to be a mother; recent widow Jane (Niven), who is planning her first Christmas without her husband; Nate (Cupo), a single father trying to best by his daughters during the holidays; and helpful delivery driver Miguel (Fernandes), who is hoping to secure a college scholarship," the synopsis continues.
With the closure imminent, everyone will take stock of what their futures really hold and discover something about themselves that changes the holiday season forever.
"As each of them face the closure of the Golden Dragon, they discover what Christmas and family truly means to each of them," the synopsis concludes.
"Christmas at the Golden Dragon" premieres Sunday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
