‘Christmas On Ice’ Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
The It’s A Wonderful Lifetime programming event is officially kicking off for the 2020 holiday season with the premiere of its first new festive film, “Christmas On Ice.” The movie, starring Abigail Klein and Ryan Cooper, debuts Friday night.
The stars kicking off this event may be ones that Lifetime fans recognize, but not entirely from projects with the network. While Klein previously starred as Abby Edwards in the 2016 flick “10 Year Reunion,” her most notable credits thus far have actually been as Nurse Eloise on the “Code Black” television show, as well as her role as Zoe Swann in the upTV 2016 Christmas movie, “Girlfriends of Christmas Past.”
Cooper, meanwhile, might be someone fans recognize from his 2019 foray into holiday movies on Lifetime, where he starred as Charlie Blanchard in “Christmas a la Mode.” Prior to that, he was best known for his roles as Aidan on “Day 5” and Owen Gentry on “Confess.”
So what will happen when these two team up for their first project together, which also happens to be Kein’s first Lifetime Christmas movie? According to a synopsis, potential holiday romance, as well as some scheming when it comes to making sure the end goal is achieved.
“Courtney Bennett (Klein), a former US figure skating hopeful, runs the city’s public skating rink, but when the Mayor (Will Lyman), announces its closing, Courtney is heartbroken but determined to save it,” the synopsis reads. “After Courtney’s attempts to warm the Mayor’s Scrooge-like heart fail, she enlists the help of Noah Tremblay (Cooper), a former professional hockey player and single dad, who owns the new indoor skating center, to help her, and together they find more than just the spirit of holidays on the ice.”
However, while romance will bloom, will the two be able to save Courtney’s ice rink? Or will she be forced to close one door in her life as she opens another?
“Christmas On Ice” airs Friday at 8 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
