Christmas In New York 2016: Best Restaurants To Eat When Visiting NYC
Cooking a big fancy meal on Christmas may not be on everyone’s wish list this holiday season. Luckily, several restaurants in New York will host Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner specials for folks who would rather sing their yuletide carols over four-course meals and holiday-themed cocktails at swanky city hot spots.
Check out the list of a few restaurants serving dinner specials just for Christmas below.
The Wayfarer: The restaurant will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, however, on Christmas guests can enjoy a special brunch menu with options ranging from egg white scramble to grilled branzino from noon to 5 p.m. Christmas Dinner at the Wayfarer is from 5 p.m. to midnight. Location: 101 West 57th Street
John Dory Oyster Bar: Guests can partake in a six-course seafood feast on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for $95 featuring dinner items like oysters and caviar amuse, scallop crudo, poached lobers and baked treacle with egg nog ice cream. The restaurant will be open for lunch from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day the restaurant will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Location: 1196 Broadway
Grand Central Oyster Bar: In true Italian tradition, the restaurant will serve a the Feast of the Seven Fishes à la carte style with menu items ranging from Italian seafood salad, salt cod cake over spicy Amalfi tomato sauce with broccoli rabe and Sicilian-style swordfish on Christmas Day. Location: 89 East 42nd Street
The Palm Court: Diners looking to indulge in a little opulence on Christmas Day can feast on The Palm Court’s Christmas Grand Buffett at The Plaza hotel, which includes a slew of delectable items like cabernet braised beef short rib Rossini with pepper seared foie gras, spaccatelli pasta braised rabbit ragu with wild mushrooms, roasted winter vegetables and Christmas bread pudding. The buffet will only cost adult patrons a cool $145 while kids get to dine for $65. Location: 5th Avenue at Central Park
Tio Pepe: The Spanish-inspired restaurant will serve a special prix-fixe dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas day featuring items like fried calamari, grilled Atlantic salmon and double-cut pork chops. Location: 168 West 4th Street
