KEY POINTS
- Christy Giles was found dead outside the Southern California Hospital on Saturday
- Her friend was found unconscious near another hospital two hours later
- Giles' husband claims he has seen a video of three masked men dumping the body
A Los Angeles model who was found dead after a night out with her friends was drugged and her lifeless body was dumped by masked men outside a hospital, her family has alleged.
Christy Giles, an aspiring actress and model, was found dead on a sidewalk outside the Southern California Hospital in Culver City on Saturday night. Giles' friend, designer Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, was found unconscious two hours later outside Kaiser Permanente hospital in West LA. The 24-year-old model was pronounced dead at the scene. Cabrales-Arzola is currently on life support with no brain activity, reported New York Post.
Jan Cilliers, Giles' husband, claimed he has seen a video of three masked men, all dressed in black and driving in a car without a license plate, dumping the model's body outside the hospital. He also claimed that the same men dumped Cabrales-Arzola outside another hospital two hours later.
Giles' family suspects foul play and believes they were forcibly injected with drugs as both the victims had drugs in their system.
"(Cabrales-Arzola's) toxicology report came back, and I guess they found heroin in her system, which is nothing that either of those girls would ever do, not voluntarily," Cilliers said.
One of Giles' friends who went home early from the party that night said the two women had met some men and ended up in a West L.A. apartment building. Cilliers said Giles had shared her phone location with him for safety and it showed she was at a West LA apartment building that night, ABC 7 reported.
He said the last message sent from Gile's phone was a text to Cabrales-Arzola at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday that read: "Let's get out of here."
"This story is by no means unique. Since Saturday we've all received a number of messages from other females who have eerily similar stories, except the only difference between them & Christy and Hilda, is they survived," according to a Go Fund Me page created by Giles' family demanding a private investigation into the suspicious death.
Detectives from Los Angeles Police Department said a preliminary investigation indicated that it was an overdose death. However, they are also investigating any possible sexual assault or foul play in this case, reported KTLA.
