Ciara Opens Up About Married Life With NFL Star Russell Wilson, Reveals How They Pulled Off Surprise Wedding

Ciara is enjoying married life!

Before performing at the Apollo in the Hamptons Night of Legends fête on Saturday night, Ciara revealed how things have been between her and husband Russell Wilson since they tied the knot last July.

“Everything is sweet, we are so happy,” the 30-year-old songstress said (via Page Six). “This is really the happiest I have ever been.”

When asked how they managed to pull off their surprise, secret wedding, Ciara said: “We looked at a venue in the US, but we also looked abroad, and the castle in England just seemed magical, and perfect. We have good friends around us so everyone kept the secret.”

“The wedding was like a fairytale,” the “Dance Like We’re Making Love” singer added.

Wilson was not present at Saturday’s event, but Ciara said that “he’s getting ready for the [2016 NFL] season. He’s strong.”

Ciara and her 27-year-old Seattle Seahawk quarterback husband exchanged “I do’s” at the Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England on July 6. Ciara wore a custom Roberto Cavalli dress, designed by the label's creative director, Peter Dundas, on their special day. Wilson, on the other hand, donned a custom Giorgio Armani suit, according to E! News.

Ciara and the NFL star began dating in early 2015 and announced their engagement in March. Wilson broke the news on Instagram, where he shared a video of Ciara wearing a huge, gorgeous diamond ring.

“She said yes! Yeah!” he said in the clip. “Making this thing happen. My baby.”

"Yay! I'm so excited," Ciara added. "God is so good."

Russell was previously married to Ashton Meem from Jan. 2012 to April 2014. Ciara, on the other hand, was previously engaged to rapper Future back in Oct. 2013, but they called off their engagement almost one year later. The two share one son together, Future Zahir Wilburn, who was born in May 2014.
