Cissy Houston, mother of singer Whitney Houston, reportedly won't publicly admit that her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, has a drug problem, but is trying to keep the teen on the right path, according to a report.
Sources close to the family told The Daily Beast that Bobbi Kristina disappeared after her mother's funeral for several hours and was allegedly found doing drugs. Houston was buried on Sunday at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J. next to her father. She died on Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in California. Whitney Houston was 48 years old.
She was found in a bathtub in her hotel suite and was pronounced dead at the hotel. No cause of death has been released at this time. Following her death, Bobbi Kristina, 18, was rushed to the hospital and treated for stress and anxiety.
Cissy and others won't admit out loud that Bobbi Kristina has a drug problem, a family friend told The Daily Beast. But they know it and have been trying to keep her straight even before Whitney passed. But losing your mother and the life you're accustomed to all in one day is enough to send anybody off the deep end.
Confusion Over Bobbi Kristina's Whereabouts
Sources who spoke to The Daily Beast are reportedly in close communication with the family. They said Bobbi Kristina allegedly slipped away after the funeral, leaving Cissy beside herself.
The New York Daily reported that Bobbi Kristina allegedly slipped away because she became upset that Bobby Brown's presence caused problems on the day of her mom's funeral. Bobby Brown is Whitney Houston's ex-husband and Bobbi Kristina is their only child together.
Bobby Brown Leaves Houston's Funeral
Bobby Brown left Houston's funeral early because of a squabble over seating. Brown told the media that he and his children were invited to his ex-wife's funeral and were seated by security. He added that they were then moved on three separate occasions.
I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continued to ask us and no one else to move, Brown noted in a statement. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi Kristina.
In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. ... I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.
