Clarence House Releases Prince Charles And Camilla's Christmas Card
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall released their Christmas card Wednesday. The cover of the card features the Prince of Wales’ distinctive feather emblem and the duchess’ cipher. The simple card has “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year” written inside, leaving enough room for a personal message.
The picture inside the Christmas card features Charles and Camilla sharing a personal moment during their annual holiday to Scotland in August. The picture shows the couple cuddling, while smiling broadly for the camera. The heir to the British throne has an arm around his wife who in turn rests her hand on his shoulder.
The photograph has been clicked by an unnamed friend of the couple at a Scottish estate. Charles looks relaxed, despite wearing a shirt and tie. The duchess is seen wearing a blouse, jumper and jacket with a scarf tied around her neck.
The private photograph was taken when the couple relaxed in the countryside away from the cameras. It was never intended for publication, but the heir to the throne and his wife loved it so much they decided to use it on their Christmas card.
“As is customary at this time of the year, we have given a copy of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall's Christmas Card to PA today for them to release on our behalf,” a Clarence House spokesman said. Meanwhile, Clarence House, which has an Instagram account, gave a sneak peek of the Christmas card on Wednesday morning.
Camilla hosted a Christmas party for terminally ill children and youngsters from two charities that she is patron of at Clarence House on Tuesday. The party is a tradition with the British royal who has been hosting it since the past 11 years at her home. After decorating the Christmas tree, the children were treated to lunch.
Meanwhile, Charles’ grandson Prince George accompanied by his mom Kate Middleton and uncle Prince Harry attended Queen Elizabeth II’s annual Christmas lunch held at Buckingham Palace Wednesday. The trio joined the queen and other royals for the festive gathering.
