Clint Eastwood will direct Beyonce in the third remake of 'A Star is Born' for Warner Brothers,according to Deadline.com.

The first ‘A Star is Born’ was made in 1937 and starred Fredric March and Janet Gaynor. The first remake came out in 1954 with James Mason and Judy Garland in the lead lead. A second remake appeared in 1976 with Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand.The story is about aa fading rock star taking an upcoming singer under his wing and how the relationship flounders under the pressure.

Before Clint Eastwood was got on board two other directors were considered to helm the movie, Joel Schumacher and Nick Cassavetes. The male lead has not been announced yet but the names being bandied around before Eastwood took over were Russell Crow and Will Smith. It is reported that Eastwood will have a vote in choosing the male lead.

Clint Eastwood at present is busy with prepeareations for filming of J Edgar Hoover biopic which has Leonardo DiCaprio, Josh Lucas, Armie Hammer and Judi Dench. The shooting is scheduled for March-April.
A Star is Bornis reported to start filming in the fall or winter.

Warner Brothers has been on a remake/reboot binge in the last one year. The launch of Lethal Weapon 5 was announced recently.
