‘Clueless’ Alums Alicia Silverstone, Breckin Meyer Hold Mini Reunion 22 Years After Film’s Release
“Clueless” alums Alicia Silverstone and Breckin Meyer recently reunited at the special Cinespia screening of the 1995 film at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
While there, the 40-year-old actress, who played the role of Cher Horowitz, went up on stage to introduce the movie. Silverstone also surprised the crowd when she got into her socialite character. “Thank you, I hope you enjoy the movie,” she said at the time.
The crowd then urged Silverstone to say her famous “As if!” line, but the actress told them, “You’re going to hear it in a second, you don’t need me to say it. Whatever!” Check out the clip of her brief hosting on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the cast of “Clueless” also reunited back in 2012. At the time, Silverstone, director Amy Heckerling, Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison and Jeremy Sisto spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the massive success of “Clueless.” Silverstone and her co-stars were quick to admit that they did not have any idea the film was adapted from Jane Austen’s novel, “Emma.”
“I had no idea. I’m so embarrassed. When I was done with the movie they told me about ‘Emma.’ And I read the book and I was like, ‘Wow, Amy did such a good job.’ I was reading and I’d be like, ‘Hey, there’s Justin Walker’s character!’” she said.
The success of “Clueless” came as a surprise to the cast and crew because they had very low expectations for the project. Faison explained, “When we were making the movie, we didn’t think the movie’s going to be good. You think, I’m making the next ‘License to Drive.’ You think this movie’s going to be just for teenagers, that’s it.”
In fact, “Clueless” was originally pegged for television. FOX was supposed to release the show, titled “No Worries.” Heckerling revealed that there were also other titles pitched like, “I Was A Teenage Teenager” and “Clueless in California.” “When I grew up there were a lot of movies with titles like, ‘I Was A Teenage Werewolf’ and stuff like that. ‘Clueless in California’ was just a play on ‘Sleepless in Seattle,’” she explained.
In other news, Silverstone recently starred in “Catfight” alongside Sandra Oh and Anne Heche. She will also star in the upcoming TV Land comedy “American Woman.”
