“Code Black” Season 3 just cast Moon Bloodgood in the recurring role of Rox.
According to TV Line, Rox is a brassy and competitive paramedic who thinks quickly and doesn’t scare easily. She is heroic and full of command, but will struggle when she is paired with Rob Lowe’s character, Dr. Willis.

“Code Black” executive producer Michael Seitzman confirmed that there will be some changes in the life of Dr. Willis in Season 3. The active member of the military will shift his focus to field medicine in the upcoming episodes. As a result, Dr. Willis will end up spending majority of his time either in an ambulance or a chopper to help tend to patients. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the two would eventually develop feelings for each other.
Last year, Lowe spoke with TV Guide to share details about his character. According to the actor, Dr. Willis is a breath of fresh air in the show, and his experiences in Afghanistan will be very helpful at Angels Memorial Hospital. Lowe also shared his excitement over doing action scenes in the CBS series. His co-star, Marcia Gay Harden, teased him about making his dreams come true by just being in “Code Black.”
Meanwhile, CBS shocked their fans when they announced last month that the medical drama has been renewed for a third season. Based on ratings alone, “Code Black” has enjoyed decent ratings, but has never been one of the higest-rated shows on the network, according to Variety. On average, the series received a total of six million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating per episode.
“Code Black” also stars Luis Guzman as Jesse, Melanie Chandra as Malaya, Ben Hollingsworth as Mario, Boris Kodjoe as Will, Harry Ford as Angus, William Allen Young as Guthrie, Angela Relucio as Risa, Jillian Murray as Heather and more. Bonnie Somerville previously played the role of Christa, while Raza Jaffrey played the role of Neal in Season 1. However, the co-stars were axed from the show following the network’s decision to promote some of the recurring guest stars from Season 1.
“Code Black” Season 3 will premiere on CBS sometime next year.
