Col. Chris Hadfield Covers 'Space Oddity': Astronaut Releases David Bowie Rendition From International Space Station [VIDEO]
Col. Chris Hadfield, a Canadian Astronaut, commanded the International Space Station (ISS) for five months. In that time he gained the reputation of being one of the most social media engaged astronauts ever, regularly posting videos on Facebook and participating in multiple Ask Me Anythings, or AMAs -- popular and candid question- and-answer sessions on Reddit.
Before he handed off command of the ISS to Russia’s Pavel Vinogradov, he released a revised cover of David Bowie’s "Space Oddity," filmed all over the interior of the ISS.
This turned out to be an appropriate send-off as Col. Chris Hadfield is scheduled to return to Earth on Monday night, May 13. Watch one of the few music videos filmed above the Earth's atmosphere here.
