53-year-old Twilight fan Gisella G. was fatally struck by a vehicle at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, while crossing the street to line up for admission into Hall H at San Diego's Comic-Con.

Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment has issued a joint statement saying that Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year's convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim's family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.

According to the statement, Gisella will be remembered at A Twilight: Breaking Dawn panel scheduled for 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 12.

Multiple news sources are reporting that the woman was bleeding profusely from the head when she was rushed to the hospital. The 67-year-old driver remained at the scene for questioning by the police.

MTV is reporting that a supportive Twilight fanbase has already started a fundraiser to help her family pay for her funeral expenses.

Fans and supporters also took to Twitter in an effort to mourn the loss of the Twilight fan.

A mass number of messages of sympathy via the social-networking site used the hashtags #RIPTwiFanG and #FandomIsFamily.
