General Motors reported a first-quarter profit that surpassed forecasts as it was able to boost vehicle prices, especially in North America, and cut losses in its troubled European operations.

Mobile operator Sprint recently released Google's flagship Android ICS phone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, for around $199.99 on a 2-year contract. In an attempt to expand its basket of offerings Sprint will start taking pre-orders from May 7 for HTC Evo 4G LTE with a price tag of $199.99 on contract. The smartphone is due to hit stores sometime this month.
